Booked and Introduced: Suzy England
This week, I’m thrilled to introduce you to Suzy England. We connected via Instagram a while back and then realized we live very close to one another in Texas and now she’s my IRL friend! We meet for coffee to discuss all sorts of bookish things! I love her books and know that if you love women’s fiction with an ample dose of romance—then you will, too! I asked Suzy to tell us a little bit about herself and the books she likes to read, write, and recommend!
Tell us a little about yourself and the kinds of books you write.
I'm a small press author of big, bold love stories filled with heart and hope. After twenty-six years as a public school educator, I retired four years ago and now write full-time. I'm married (32 years!) and mom of two adult children. I enjoy traveling, deep sea fishing, snowmobiling, spending time with family, and cheering for my alma-mater, The University of Texas.
Where did the idea for your current or most recent book come from?
My current release, A SINGING BIRD WILL COME, started as a fan-fiction piece in the old Yahoo Groups, way back in the mid-2000s. I then moved it to the global online platform, Wattpad, where it became an Editor's Pick and racked up hundreds of thousands of views. After a significant rewrite, I published it with Next Chapter Publishing.
What kinds of books do you reach for when you are reading purely for fun?
I read a variety of books. As a Women's Fiction/Romance author, I reach for love stories first, but every month I mix it up. I enjoy thrillers and non-fiction, especially those focused on current events/politics.
What is a book you never get tired of recommending?
This is a tough question. How can I possible choose just one? I've got to go back to my true loves (books I read many years ago): Lonesome Dove (Larry McMurtry); The Prince of Tides (Pat Conroy); The Kitchen God's Wife (Amy Tan); The Poisonwood Bible (Barbara Kingsolver); The Thorn Birds (Colleen McCullough). I still think about these books.
What are you working on now, and where can readers find you and your books?
I'm awaiting final edits for my forthcoming novel, UNMASKING MR. CROWN - a contemporary romance about two sisters who unknowingly fall for the same guy. I am so excited for this book to hit shelves this fall! It's been a labor of love for many years. I'm also finishing up a romance novel that will hopefully be ready to publish in 2027, and editing another book (Women's Fiction), also slated for a 2027 release.
My books are available at major book retailers, as well as X&O Books in Cypress, Texas, where I'm proud to be a Founding Author.

What if one choice changed everything—and love was the only way forward?
Claire Jordan’s life looks perfect from the outside. With a successful career and a powerful Hollywood boyfriend ready to propose on Christmas Eve, she should feel certain about her future. Instead, she feels trapped by a life that no longer fits. Across LA County, cosmetics mogul Jay Avery is fighting battles of his own. His marriage to his brilliant but emotionally distant surgeon wife is crumbling. When Claire and Jay meet by chance, a connection sparks between two emotionally wrecked souls. Their attraction is immediate, yet shadowed by a strange sense of grief neither can explain. As their relationship deepens from the beaches of Jamaica, to the glamorous streets of London, to the energy of New York City, a mysterious painting uncovers secrets tied to tragedy, guilt, and a past that refuses to stay buried.
Now Claire and Jay must decide whether they can let go of the pain that shaped them and embrace the second chance they never expected—or whether the truth will destroy their chance at forever before it even begins.
