The Stories I Write
I’m a contemporary romance and women’s fiction author whose stories center on second chances, reinvention, and the beautifully complicated seasons of midlife. A native of Queensbury (in Upstate New York), I grew up surrounded by Adirondack lakes, gorgeous mountains, and all that the area has to offer—an influence that now runs through much of her writing.
My Path
I earned my BA in French Language and Culture from Penn State University and later picked up a Master’s in Education from SUNY Albany.
I spent nearly a decade in education, first teaching high school and later helping other teachers bring technology into their classrooms.
Life Along the Way
Along the way, I met my husband, Blaine, and life began to expand in all the best ways. Together, we’ve spent more than two decades raising our two sons, Caleb and Grayson, while moving across the U.S. and around the world. We’ve lived everywhere from New York, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Texas to international stops in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Warsaw, Poland.
These days, I split my time between Houston, Texas, and my happy place on Lake Hadlock in Upstate New York. (Or, as I like to say, “A million dollars south of Lake George.”)
A Bit of Fun Backstory
Before I was an author, I spent many summers working in Lake George restaurants, and, yes, dated my fair share of chefs. Those experiences stuck with me and, eventually, found their way into my stories.
Hi, I’m Robin Blackburn.
What I Do
Now a writer and content marketer, I try to bring a warm, lived-in authenticity to everything I create. Her debut novel, Second Courses, is set in the Lake George region and celebrates what happens when life goes off script and you decide it might just be the start of something better.
